Karl and his team-mate, Justin, answered our "call" for someone to re-do our leaning retaining wall in a very small backyard, with the added challenges of : a)having no access to any heavy machinery, and b)surface water run-off during heavy downpours.

"Are you happy?", was one of the questions Karl would frequently ask over the course of the project; thus giving the opportunity to give feedback to him.

We are happy that he:
* is quick to response to our request for a quotation;
* answers his mobile whenever possible;
* schedules the logistics/supplies timely so that the site is not cluttered up;
* turns up daily and consistently puts in the number of hours to work, in our case--physical labour;
* plans and carries out the project in a systematic manner, thus saving resources;
* is tidy on site and clears the access before leaving everyday;
* respects our privacy and keeps the noise and dust level to minimum;
* listens to requests, remembers them and carries out the work that has been agreed to;
* puts himself in our situation and works towards a solution that he would be proud of;
* always works with the budget in mind and offers creative and practical solutions/options;
* has the ability to sense and grasp the on-site situation without us being explicit;
* is not just a "man of steel" but more importantly, a man of his words.

We certainly look forward to seeing both of them soon, for our next project! 🙂
