KF Builders (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.kfbuilders.co.nz, why we collect it, how we look after it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are

What we collect

• When you contact us: if you use our contact form, email or phone us, we collect your name, phone number, email address and anything you tell us about your project. The form also records which page you sent it from, so we know what you were looking at.
• When you visit the site: we collect general information about how the website is used, such as the pages visited, how long people stay, the type of device and browser, and the approximate location (city or region). This does not identify you personally.
• For security: our website security tools record technical details such as your IP address and browser when you visit, so we can detect and block spam, hacking attempts and other misuse.

How we use your information

• To reply to your enquiry, prepare quotes and estimates, and carry out and manage any building work you engage us for.
• To understand how people use our website so we can improve it.
• To protect the website and our contact form from spam and attacks.

We only use your information for these purposes, or where the law requires or allows it.

We don’t sell or share your information

We will never sell, rent, trade or lease your personal information. We don’t send marketing emails or run a mailing list. We only share your information where it is needed to do the job, for example with a subcontractor, designer or council working on your project, and only with your knowledge.

Services we use

Like most websites, we rely on some trusted service providers. Some of them store information on servers outside New Zealand:

• Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the site. It uses cookies and collects anonymous usage information. Google does not tell us who you are. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that contact form submissions come from real people rather than spam bots. It runs quietly in the background and may look at technical details about your browser and device. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
• Website hosting and security: our website is hosted in New Zealand, and security software keeps short-term logs of website visits to protect the site.
• Email: contact form enquiries are sent to us by email and kept in our email account. They are not stored in a database on the website.

We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to New Zealand’s privacy laws.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use cookies for website analytics (Google Analytics) and to keep the website secure. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies for marketing. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, although some features may not.

Links to other websites

Our website links to other sites, such as our Facebook and LinkedIn pages, NoCowboys reviews and our suppliers. We are not responsible for how those websites handle your information, so please check their privacy policies.

How we keep your information safe

Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, a security firewall and protected logins. We keep enquiries and project records only for as long as we need them for the purposes above, or as required by law, such as tax and building records.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Email karl@kfbuilders.co.nz and we will respond as soon as we can, and within 20 working days.

If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
